Explosive scorer Mitchell joined the elite WNBA point club during the Indiana Fever’s crucial Chicago Sky victory. But as per the Fever Guard, it was her coach who paved the way for her.
Kelsey Mitchell Praises Stephanie White
The 29-year-old guard has been in great offensive form, recording a career-best 20 points and providing three assists per game. The player has been a clutch shooter for the Indiana Fever, winning key games and the Commissioner’s Cup title.

But the star credited her surge to head coach White. After the game, HC White got emotional about the team’s resilience and fight during the playoffs. But what made her emotional were Mitchell’s words.
“I’ve had five coaches in eight years. I’ve been on the worst record teams here in [the] Indiana Fever, so I know where my career started at… And I’ve never had a coach that poured into me, respectfully, like Steph has,” Mitchell said.

“Would anybody who might happen to be a top 5 finalist for the WNBA MVP please stand up?!” Head coach Stephanie White surprised Kelsey Mitchell with the announcement.
An ever-shy Mitchell stood up, and White handed her flowers, wishing her all the best for the accolade. Other competitors for the illustrious award are A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, Allisha Grey, and Alysha Thomas. Moreover, the player delivered on the night, helping the Fever win over the Dream.
