The Indiana Fever’s attempt to get back into the game took a serious hit as Kelsey Mitchell left the field with an apparent leg injury. She didn’t come back, leaving the side shorthanded – once again in the games. Although the Fever gave an intense fight, they fell against the Aces in overtime.
She was not in the team picture that was clicked in the locker room, leaving the fans worried for her health. Bur KM updates on her injury, which is a bit scary.
Kelsey Mitchell Provides Update On Injury
While many of the injuries to Fever players were due to bumping on opponents or opponents stepping on the landing spots, the 29-year-old guard suffered a ‘non-contact’ injury, which first left the commentators and on-court reporters who mentioned it as a cramp.

But Mitchell shared a post describing the status and type of injury, she wrote, “I suffered from something called Rhabdomyolysis last night. My muscles stopped producing and reached their maximum capacity. I went into a sense of numbness/paralyzing feeling with no movement from my lower extremities for up to 5 to 7 seconds. Because my muscles stopped producing positive blood into my bloodstream, my body locked up from a physical standpoint, and from there, fatigue and cramping settled in.”
In the long update she wrote, she panicked for a moment as she feared the worst for her injury. However, after evaluating and understanding the situation, she is now fine. She is even moving and walking at a slow pace and will be ready for the action earlier than expected.

A’ja Wilson also sent prayers to Mitchell during a post-game interview.
While that was true to some extent, there is no update on Mitchell’s recovery time. The player already has a winter game scheduled.
