When the megastar playmaker was part of just 13 games in the 2025 season, Mitchell bailed out the Fever team on multiple occasions, keeping the side competitive for the title. Her heroic performances earned her the 2025 MVP finalist honor and the Fever players’ huge respect. CC also showed her love for the veteran guard in her year-end post.
Clark included a photo of herself posing with Mitchell as they showed big smiles. Mitchell, for her part, also shared it on her Instagram Stories and included a message of appreciation for Clark. She wrote, “grateful for you, 2’s!”

In a recent podcast episode, Aliyah Boston named Kelsey Mitchell as the WNBA’s best 1-on-1 player. While the 28-year-old also praised Clark for her game and impact, she highlighted one special quality that impressed her the most.
In an interview with Sue Bird, Mitchell answered the question about CC and said, “When something that big or someone that big who has that much impact comes into something, there are a lot of adjustments that the people have to make. The biggest part I respect about Caitlin (Clark) is that she was never bigger than the program. She wasn’t trying to take over.”
