The Indiana Fever team has been on a roll, shocking everyone with its semifinal run in the 2025 season. The player in focus was Kelsey Mitchell, who carried the team in Caitlin Clark’s absence and challenged the Aces. Now that the player hits the free agency for the 2026 season, there is no doubt that coach Stephanie White keeps Mitchell as the top priority ahead of free agency.
While the player’s skills, hard work, and never-die attitude make her an ideal player on the floor, she is ready to elevate her game to push for better seasons ahead. At 30, the player is looking to add to her offensive skills, as she recently told Lisa Leslie in an interview.

Kelsey Mitchell Hints At Major Upgrade In Her Offensive Game
The Indiana Fever star had been the focal point of Steohanie White’s offensive system after the side lost multiple players to injuries. Caitlin Clark’s absence was a major blow to the team. But the 2018 draft’s second overall pick stepped up with her three-point efficiency and ability to beat defenders for a layup.
In the ‘Between the Lines’ podcast, Lisa Leslie lauded those qualities and reminded the star about their discussion on improving her mid-range shots. In the Unrivaled league, the player increased the volume of mid-range shooting, but needs to be consistent in the same. Replying to her suggestion, KM just muttered two words, “It’s coming.”
While the player is seen as an explosive scorer with her handles and shooting efficiency, improving her mid-range shooting will take her game to the next level, helping the Fever add versatility on the floor.

Both guards were top contenders for the Unrivaled’s one-on-one tournament, with their skills setting them apart from the rest. While the competition tested everyone’s ability to score and also defend. The Fever guard had nothing but praise for the 2025 rookie as they faced each other in the league.
“This was one of the first games where I really had to go against someone who can truly score at a high level (Paige)….You don’t take moments like this for granted…If I can find ways to play against players like that every night, I know I’m going to get better,” Kelsey Mitchell said.
Sadly, neither player could reach the finals of the one-on-one tournament, but they had been terrific for their respective teams in both leagues.
