On July 8, captains Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier drafted their teams for the WNBA All-Star game. Both superstars were confident of their team’s victory, with their respective rosters loaded with top talents from the league. On game night, though, all Team Collier put up an offensive show for the fans. Reserve guard Kelsey Plum was pleased with her team’s performance and took a jab at the opposition.
With an 82-60 lead in the first half, the LA Sparks guard was in a joyous mood. During the halftime interview with Holly Rowe, she jokingly addressed her competitive nature in the All-Star game.
Kelsey Plum Showcases Her Competitive Side In All-Star Game
The 30-year-old guard has played in four All-Star games so far. The 2017 first overall pick debuted in the All-Star games in 2022, playing for Team Wilson. She scored 30 points in that game, winning the game for her side and also the All-Star MVP accolade. In her fourth appearance, the competitive fire is still there.
“Oh no, I am just playing hard. We wanna blow them out. We are a lot better than them. I hate to say it,” Plum said in the interview.

At the end of the first two quarters, the former champion played just nine minutes and scored 14 points. She also had an assist and four rebounds in that period. Adding two more points and two assists before calling a day, the veteran guard will be pleased with her team keeping her word and demolishing the opponents with a 151-131 scoreline.
Napheesa Collier led the team with a record 36 points. Skylar Diggins recorded the first-ever triple-double in the WNBA All-Star game with 11 points, 15 assists, and 11 rebounds.

The Washington Huskies star also participated in the three-point shooting contest. She participated along with former champions Sabrina Ionescu and Allisha Gray, while Sonia Citron and Caitlin Clark were other competitors.
Though Lexie Hull replaced the injured Clark in the challenge, CC made her presence felt, waving Hull’s jersey in front of all the participants. The LA guard noticed and hugged the former Iowa guard before entering the court.
