Kelsey Plum is one of the WNBA’s gifted stars, with two championships and a number of gold medals under her belt. The WNBPA’s high-ranking athlete and Spark’s veteran star took over multiple roles in her career. The star also took charge of the young side in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers and showed her leadership, praising the veterans on the team for their impact.
While the player showed her grip on most of the activities around her, she recently lost a grip on her shoe deal, and that’s because of her actions at the Unrivaled league.
Kelsey Plum Losing Sneaker Deal
As it happened, the Phantom BC’s guard chose to wear Adidas shoes during season 2 of the 3-on-3 league. She actually has a deal with Under Armour and even has a signature shoe with the sneaker brand. But her decision to choose Adidas over Under Armour resulted in the termination of her deal.
“We appreciate the partnership we’ve had with Kelsey and everything she’s contributed,” Under Armour said in a statement. “As we sharpen our focus and build for what’s next, we’re moving in different directions. We wish her the best.”

Interestingly, Plum has yet to officially announce her split with Under Armour, but about the Unrivaled incident, Under Armour maintained that it was an issue with the shoes, causing Plum’s change in footwear.
Now, fans will be eagerly waiting for Plum’s response, who is an outspoken person and famous for her blunt responses. Fans know that the player is currently focusing on her LA Sparks duties and also did a huge favor to the franchise by signing her contract. Plum even joked about her contract in a viral social media photo.

Kelsey Plum Signs Team-Friendly Contract
The new CBA deals handed massive salaries to players and supermax salaries to the franchise’s key figures. Kelsey Mitchell became the first Supermax signing player, and the next in line was her name twin in LA.
But the 31-year-old decided to give the Sparks financial flexibility as they build their roster for 2026. Her decision allowed the franchise to add Nneka Ogwumike to the roster, giving them more championship experience on the floor.
