The Las Vegas Aces were phenomenal in their championship run this season. While they did not have a favorable first half in the regular season, things took a drastic turn in the second half. Facing the Phoenix Mercury in the finals, the Aces romped to a 4-0 victory. Looking at such impressive dominance from the Aces, the team got a lot of praise. However, one particular comment from Patrick Beverly did not have Kendrick Perkins’ approval.
Soon after the WNBA triumph, Beverly expressed his excitement and admiration for the Aces. While praising them, he commented that the team has the potential to beat an NBA side, too! Immediately, Beverly faced fans’ backlashes for his comments.
Kendrick Perkins Rules Out Pat Beverly’s Analogy Of The Las Vegas Aces
Perkins recently appeared in an episode of ‘Road Trippin.’ Speaking about the Aces’ fantastic victory, Big Perk hailed the team as one of the most dominant forces in the WNBA. However, he also pointed out that there was no need for Beverly to initiate a comparison between the two leagues. Diving deep into the matter, Perkins pointed out that the WNBA players will always fall behind in terms of physicality.

“I like Pat, he’s open, he’s authentic. He said some real s—t, and he said some bulls—t; this was one of those bulls—t moments. He was f—ing tripping,” Perkins said. “I expect Pat Bev to have more respect for guys that are at the end of the bench, especially with his journey, with how he had to get into the NBA. Playing overseas, stuff like that, because… The Aces will struggle against the best men’s basketball college team. Physically, you just couldn’t keep up,” said Perkins.
Surely, Beverly’s claim about the Aces beating an NBA team looks to be getting quite a lot of flak. Meanwhile, getting involved in controversies is nothing new to Beverly. He recently clashed with Satou Sabally over the WNBA workload.

Pat Beverly Lashed Out At Satou Sabally’s Complaint Regarding Back-To-Back Games
The WNBA added just four extra days while compressing as many as 52 games this season. And this resulted in a lot of athletes feeling the burn. After suffering a loss to the Aces back in late August, Mercury star Sabally complained about the workload. She criticized the league leadership for allegedly not caring about the scheduling or for player safety. However, replying to the complaint, Beverly pointed out that back-to-back games are a norm now, and one cannot complain about the same.

“Alright now, come on now… Y’all had me, W had me. These ladies deserve more money, but come on, man. You gotta play back-to-backs. You got to. It’s part of it… I’m all with it, but don’t lose me there now,” Beverley said in the video.
Thus, it is evident that Pat Beverly is someone who is not afraid to put forth his opinion. And while his recent comments have gone viral, it remains to be seen whether he will come up with a reply in the future.
