Four top seeds making it to the final four of the NCAAA Tournament already made the competition interesting. The UCLA vs Texas was an interesting match-up, with the Longhorns winning the championship back in 1986, while the UCLA side was aiming for its first finals appearance. All eyes were on the top draft prospect, Lauren Betts, who had been one of the top performers in the competition.
But knowing the challenge the Center would pose in the game, the Longhorns’ opposite number, Kyla Oldacre, had a special message for her.

Kyla Oldacre With Warning For Lauren Betts
The Texas vs UCLA game featured many key matchups, with one-on-one faceoffs deciding the outcome. While the 6-foot-7 UCLA Center was an imposing figure on the floor, Kyla Oldacre also did well as a center for the Texas program.
Before the game, the Texas player shared an incident where they had an early exchange as she said, “She did sort of get stuff her way. We kind of had a conversation yesterday about, you know, I told her, ‘Don’t be crying to the refs,’ and she said, ‘Don’t be pinching; we won’t have problems.’ So I was like, ‘Okay, cool.’ But as soon as I see her doing something, she’s gonna get pinched.”
The Texas side defeated the Bruins in the regular season, which was their only loss in the season, and the side got perfect revenge, defeating the Longhorns in the Final Four. Interestingly, it was Betts who was the most impactful player in the game with her double-double performance.

Yet one play that won the game for the Bruins was a block from Betts in the closing moments, and the player had a perfect reaction to her play after the game.
Lauren Betts Reacts To Her Clutch Performance
The low-scoring game highlighted the strong defensive performances from both teams, but the match-winning play was from the UCLA side, with their 2025 defensive player of the Year making a crucial block with less than 20 seconds on the clock. Texas was pushing the ball up the floor, trailing 47-44. Madison Booker drove to the basket, but Betts was there to block the shot.
Speaking to Holly Rowe on the floor, Betts said, “My instincts … It’s just what I do.”
