Halfway into the WNBA 2025 season, fans will have some entertainment at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Handpicked stars from the league will showcase their talent and skills in an All-Star game with Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier leading their respective sides.
Before the team game, there will be individual contests, including a three-point shooting and skill competition. With Team Clark players participating in multiple competitions, Team Collier will also have its representative, Kelsey Plum, in the three-point shooting competition. The LA Sparks confirmed the news via a social media post.
Kelsey Plum Named In All-Star Three-Point Shooting Contest
The 30-year-old guard had already played in the three-point shooting contest in the 2022 All-Star edition. Even though she didn’t win the accolade that season, she was the 2022 All-Star Game MVP, winning the match for Team Wilson at the time. She will look to repeat the feat and add the three-point contest winner title to her stacked trophy cabinet.
Former winners Sabrina Ionescu (2023) and Allisha Gray (2024) are also among the participants. Caitlin Clark and Sonia Citron complete the list of five contestants for the illustrious title. Interestingly, Kayla McBride and Kelsey Mitchell, who have better records and shooting percentages this season, were overlooked for the contest.
Plum has a statistical edge, though. She is the most efficient scorer among the participants, with 38.6% accuracy from the range, ranking her fifth all-time in ‘W’. She is also 15th in made three-pointers in the league with 539 baskets scored. No other current competitors in the three-point shootout are in the top 25 so far. Watching her battle against the league’s young guns will be interesting.
Kelsey Plum Riding High On Her LA Debut Season
The former Aces star is enjoying a productive season with the Sparks. Even though the franchise is making a few changes to push for the postseason, the superstar guard is the center of the team’s build-up.
