The WNBA broke a two-decade-long regular-season attendance record earlier in September and is now setting new highs in the playoff games. The WNBA Finals viewership ratings are out, and the numbers are encouraging.
WNBA 2025 Finals Set Viewership Record
The Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Mercury, participants in the 2025 WNBA finals, have a number of superstars who have a massive fan following. Superstar A’ja Wilson won her fourth MVP title and is the face of the league, as she once again proved to be the attraction for the viewers.

According to the WNBA Communications article, Game 1 of the 2025 WNBA Finals is the most-viewed Game 1 of the WNBA Finals in 28 years. It averaged a record-breaking 1.9 million viewers and even hit a high of 2.5 million viewers. It’s also the most-viewed WNBA Finals Game 1 in a series format.

In an interesting fact, the Indiana Fever-Las Vegas Aces WNBA semifinals series also witnessed a record viewership, even without Caitlin Clark. And now the figures of the final show the Aces’ popularity. This year, the previous year’s New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx series too had a huge draw, reaching that figure is a truly admirable feat.

“To win a championship, I feel like none of the records are — any of it is completed without a championship, I feel like winning a championship just completes the resume on a great career, and this is the whole reason that I’m playing is to win a championship… I can’t stop until I get one,” said Thomas.
Thomas is currently leading her side in assists (8.7). rebounds (8.3) and steals (1.9) while standing second in scoring (17.2) in the 2025 playoffs series. The player is capable of turning things around and will look to exert her dominance in the finals, also.
