The WNBA’s future at the moment is looking extremely bleak. With the WNBA pushing the deadline for another 30 days, they have finally come up with a proposal. Unfortunately, as per reports, the WNBPA is likely to reject the $1.1 million max salary proposal.
Meanwhile, as the threat of a lockout looms large, one of the main targets has been Cathy Engelbert. People have vehemently criticized the WNBA commissioner for her actions.
With the likes of Napheesa Collier calling Engelbert out publicly, other athletes too soon joined in. In fact, the rift between Engelbert and Collier has deepened over revenue-sharing issues. However, speaking on the ongoing fiasco, Seattle Storm star Lexie Brown had some interesting points to share

Lexie Brown Points Out Who Is Really Responsible For The Mess
Brown recently appeared on an episode of ‘Good Follow with Ros Gold-Onwude.’ Speaking on the CBA chaos, she reminded that Engelbert might be the face, but she alone cannot make decisions.
In fact, Brown stated that the NBA still owns 42% of the league. Thus, Engelbert has to report to the ownership. And most of the problems that the WNBA is facing have existed for a long time, back to when Engelbert was the commissioner.
“I feel like people have been really hard on Cathy [Engelbert]—as they should be—but she works for the owners. Everyone needs to be looking at the owners and [ask], ‘What are y’all talking about in these meetings? Who’s for the players and who’s for themselves?’ That’s the questions that need to be asked. It’s not all on Cathy. She’s just the face of it,” said Brown.

Surely, Brown does have valid points. With the entire league in doldrums, the WNBA front office has to come together and try to solve issues with its players. Now then, coming back to Brown, this was not the first time she had had an outburst. Brown also showed frustration over her playing time in Seattle.
Lexie Brown Was Unhappy With Her Playing Time In Seattle Storm
The Seattle Storm were playing some impressive basketball. Unfortunately, with just handshaking distance away from a semifinal berth, the team fumbled big time and bowed out of the tournament.

Meanwhile, reflecting on her time with the Storm, Brown did not seem to be too excited. She looked frustrated for not getting enough gametime.
“I just want everyone to know that I’m healthy. I feel great, and the fact that I was able to show up every day as my best self and do everything I could to earn time on this court was a win for me… just don’t think I was given the opportunity I deserve here, and I feel like I have so much basketball left to play. If that’s here, if that’s somewhere else, I don’t know,” Brown said in an interview.
