Lexie Brown has been one of the most exciting prospects in the WNBA. Unfortunately for her, she was not happy in the 2025 season as she donned the Seattle Storm jersey. In fact, things were so bad that Brown had to publicly lash out about her lack of gametime in Seattle.
Meanwhile, with the WNBA in a tumultuous situation at the moment, the concerns over leagues like Project B are rising. And as the Saudi-backed league, along with Unrivaled, is gaining momentum, Brown’s Athletes Unlimited, too, is slowly emerging as a powerhouse.
And as the steady progress of Athletes Unlimited continues, the Storm star has detailed her interest in what her future outside of basketball might look like.

Lexie Brown Looks To Take Up Front Office Job After Basketball
Athletes Unlimited has surely been a major platform for the US hoopers to showcase their talents. In fact, the tournament has provided the opportunity for the players to stay in the US and make some extra money.
Now, Brown signed up for the league back in 2022. And after playing for four seasons, the Storm star is now also a part of the Player Executive Committee. So, this means that she can play an active role in the decision-making process of the league. And such opportunities are fast-tracking her dreams of becoming a front office executive in the future.
“We have weekly meetings, handpicked the roster. We discussed uniforms, what refs we’re bringing in. If we’re doing any rule changes. We collectively decided to come to Nashville…We’re extremely hands-on. I’m getting my feet wet in the front office role, GM role, that I want to have one day hopefully,” said Brown, in an episode of the ‘Good Follow with Ros Gold-Onwude’ podcast.

Surely, it looks like Brown has her priorities sorted. However, as long as she is playing, she wants things back at the WNBA to get back to normal. And for that, the Storm player feels Cathy Engelbert is not the only person to be accused.
Lexie Brown Makes A Bold Statement Involving Cathy Engelbert
The WNBA players’ backlash towards the league commissioner has been well-known. With Napheesa Collier calling out Engelbert publicly for her lack of accountability, the rumors of her resignation have been doing the rounds.

However, as per Brown, Engelbert is not the only one to blame. After all, it is the NBA that still owns a good 42% of the league.
“I feel like people have been really hard on Cathy (Engelbert)—as they should be—but she works for the owners. Everyone needs to be looking at the owners and [ask], ‘What are y’all talking about in these meetings? Who’s for the players and who’s for themselves?’ That’s the questions that need to be asked. It’s not all on Cathy. She’s just the face of it,” said Brown.
She’s just the face of it,” said Brown.
Thus, with things looking quite grim for the WNBA, fans will be eager to see if leagues like Athletes Unlimited take over the WNBA in the future.
