Being productive and impactful always boosts confidence. Lexie Hull wanted that boost as the Indiana Fever team moved forward and inched closer to a playoff spot. After losing her starting position to DeWanna Bonner and then Sophie Cunningham, the Stanford graduate got a rare starting role against the Chicago Sky.
Making the most of the opportunity, the star had a career-high night helping the side clinch a critical 92-70 win over the opponents. HC Stephanie White was also happy with her player’s performance and praised her in the post-game interview.
Stephanie White Lauds Lexie Hull’s Comeback Performance
In the second half of the 2024 season, the forward was a key member of the Indiana Fever’s surge towards the playoffs. Her corner threes made offensive play easier for the franchise’s offensive trio. But in 2025, the star struggled for her place and gametime with several high-profile additions.
Injuries put the side down to nine active players against the Chicago Sky, and the versatile player got a chance to show her capabilities once again. She scored a season high 17 points and also had three steals, taking the career steal total to 100. Talking to the press, HC Stephanie white had nothing but praise for the 6-foot-1 forward.
“It was nice to see the ball go through the net for her and for her to play with such confidence. I mean, you know, for us, we believe that every time she shoots it, it’s going to go in. But for her to finally feel that and see that and play with so much confidence, it’s big for us. We need her,” White said in a post-game interview (Via YT/IndianaFever).
Calling the star perfectionist, White added that she will be important part of the rotation and with her confidence high now, the team will look to get more from her. Ironically, after the loss against the Phoenix Mercury, Lexie Hull’s mother called for support to her daughter. Many fans showed trust in the star, and it finally showed in the game against the Chicago team.

Lexie Hull Being The ‘X’ Factor For Fever
Even though the star had been hard on herself for losing the starting position on the side and even on her shooting slum, she had always been the star performer for the Fever. Drafted in 2022, the Stanford forward slowly grew into the Fever’s gameplay. The addition of a playmaker like Caitlin Clark provided her opportunity to shine on the offensive end. She grabbed it with both hands in the second half of the 2024 season.

Even coming off the bench in the 2025 season, it had been her career-best season. She has 34 three-pointers so far in the season, more than her last season’s tally. Lexie Hull averages 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. These are all career highs in her four seasons with the Indiana franchise.
Moreover, the 25-year-old had been a handy defender for Stephanie White. Her hustle plays and cutting passing lanes allow the Indiana side to put pressure on the opponents. The team will look to take advantage of her newfound confidence as they welcome the Dallas Wings next on August 12.
