College basketball is back with some exciting names and games on the schedule. Alumni from various colleges are backing their former teams, as Paige Bueckers expressed a surreal feeling while watching the UConn team play from the stands. While top names are taking over the court, the young recruit, Liv McGill, stole the show with her explosive scoring.
While the season is still fresh, the player has already gained attention and matched the record that Dwayne Wade set in 2009 with the Miami Heat.
Liv McGill Matches Dwayne Wade’s Record
With an eye on the WNBA draft, many analysts and teams were tracking the top 5 draft prospects. Amid this, the Florida Gators’ young recruit made history, scoring 64 points in just two games. She also had 19 assists in those games, while defensively, the guard put up another show with 19 rebounds and 12 steals.

While none of the NCAA Division I players (men and women) matched the statistics in the history of the tournament, the record-setting stat matches an NBA record set by Dwyane Wade in 2009.

The only other NBA, WNBA or Division I men's or women's player this century to have 60/15/15/10 in those categories over a 2-game span was Dwyane Wade from February 28 to March 2, 2009. pic.twitter.com/7DFHbmgBV9
While the Gators have played against Chattanooga, Mocks, and North Florida so far, the players have certainly put the basketball world on notice. McGill and the Gators will have tougher opponents soon enough.
