Paige Bueckers’ rookie surge faced a stumble recently as the Dallas Wings faced mounting challenges. However, that by no means justifies the extent to which Bueckers has been performing this season. The 23-year-old UConn Huskies star came into the WNBA realm for the first time this year. And immediately, she made an impact. While her team kept on losing games, it was the 23-year-old rookie who stood tall among the ruins. And looking at her towering presence, fellow teammate Maddy Siegrist could not help but praise her.
The Dallas Wings made the decision to pull their prized rookie out of the game against the Connecticut Sun. And without the rookie star, the team faltered once again. Following the loss, Siegrist was all praises for the 23-year-old phenom.
Maddy Siegrist Compares Paige Bueckers With An Eighth-Year Player
The Wings succumbed to a 101-95 loss to the Sun. While this shook their morals further, it did not matter much for Dallas. This is because Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings were already eliminated from the WNBA playoffs. With a dismal 9-30 record, not much can be said about the Wings. After the game, the media asked Siegrist to reflect on the rookie star’s impact. And immediately, she did not hesitate to admit that what Bueckers was doing was amazing.

“I think what Paige is doing, if she was an eighth year player would be amazing. To come in right off the college season and be able to do this is just so impressive. It just speaks volumes to the type of player (and) type of person she is. She really makes people around her better,” Siegrist said.
Siegrist also stated that although the team missed her, they were hopeful about the young phenom joining them soon. Meanwhile, looking at Bueckers’ impeccable form, NBA icon Draymond Green recently shared a word of advice for the Dallas Wings.

Draymond Green Shares Valuable Advice For Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings
Draymond Green has seen a lot of young talent. And thus, when he spots some real talent, Green immediately offers his two cents. Likewise, looking at the incredible surge Bueckers was in, the NBA icon could not help but do a little digging himself. Speaking with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the NBA star pointed out that the Wings must look for a fitting partner to aid the 23-year-old on the field. He also added that Dallas is probably holding onto the wrong pieces to build a better squad.

“In order to be in the race, she has to. But does she do it? They need to now build the team properly. They’re holding on to the wrong pieces,” said Green.
Surely, the team has missed having an athlete in a supporting role. Still, Bueckers has put up incredible numbers herself. She is averaging 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.6 steals. Thus, with the Wings looking to bring in radical changes, it remains to be seen how the team shapes up next.
