Maddy Siegrist did not have a pretty good season this time. Suiting up for the Dallas Wings, the WNBA star suffered an injury that impacted both her and the team’s season. In fact, Siegrist’s delayed return from a knee injury left the Dallas Wings shorthanded against the Indiana Fever.
Soon after, the team crumbled under pressure and ended with the worst stats of the season. And as Dallas finished as the last team on the table, the backlashes soon started to follow. However, as the team looks to bounce back from a disappointing season, Siegrist might be having one of the best seasons of her career. There are two key reasons for this.
Maddy Siegrist Is Expected To Learn A Lot From Unrivaled
Siegrist will be bracing up for the Laces BC in Unrivaled. With the likes of Alyssa Thomas, Brittney Sykes, Jackie Young, and Naz Hillmon, the Wings’ rookie star will surely get to learn a lot.

In fact, despite the poor showing of the Dallas Wings, Siegrist had quite an impressive season this year. She dropped averages of 12.7 points per game, along with 4.3 rebounds, while playing 26 games. And that’s not all.
The 25-year-old also delivered some exquisite shooting performances. As a result, Siegrist ended up as the third-best scorer of the season, only behind Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale. Now then, the Wings will have a more experienced coach than Chris Koclanes in Jose Fernandez this year.

Also, Fernandez had already made it clear that he wants to build a cohesive environment, and his main focus will be to win. Thus, such a positive outlook will also greatly benefit the likes of Siegrist. Meanwhile, as the season came to an end, the 25-year-old expressed her delight about Bueckers’ incredible performance.
Maddy Siegrist Heaps Praises On Paige Bueckers
The Wings had a really poor season. But undoubtedly, one of the biggest talking points for them was Bueckers’ electric form. She had been phenomenal as a rookie and also broke a lot of records. Naturally, this left her fellow rookie mate, Siegrist, utterly impressed.

“I think what Paige is doing, if she was an eighth year player would be amazing. To come in right off the college season and be able to do this is just so impressive. It just speaks volumes to the type of player (and) type of person she is. She really makes people around her better,” Siegrist said.
Thus, despite a bad season, there are indications of a possible turnaround from the Wings. Now, it remains to be seen what happens next.
