The Unrivaled league is entering its middle game, and teams are desperate to push for the playoffs. Undoubtedly, the game got a bit rough with players losing their temper over their plays or referee decisions. While there are rules and fouls that could control such behaviors, Marina Mabrey developed a different technique to prevent such occurrences.
Unrivaled faces criticism for inconsistent officiating, as fans and critics found many missed calls or wrong decisions in multiple games. Mabrey, who can’t stand by such occurrences, had been on the referee’s face for the same.

Marina Mabrey’s “Crashout Jar” During Unrivaled
During the WNBA 2025 season, the Sun guard came into the limelight after her on-court altercation with Caitlin Clark. Many criticized the game’s physicality and the needless shovel. The player faces a similar situation in the unrivaled league during 3-on-3 games.
The veteran guard also had some rough situations, and after her infamous incident with Courthey Williams, the player used the ‘Crashout Jar’ technique to remind her about staying ‘within’ limits. Introducing the jar, she already put a price on every misbehavior on the court, and in the end, put in $90 for the game against the Vinyl BC.
Following intense, physical play, Mabrey’s reactions—including an outburst where she suggested she would “f***ing kill somebody” after a missed foul call on a shot, and a confrontation with Courtney Williams—led to the creation of the jar, with proceeds intended for charity or anger management sessions.

Though the player is trying to control her anger, people at the Unrivaled league gave her a bigger jar, with Lisa Leslie already putting $5 in it. Given the intensity and dedication she brings to the games, her frustrations might be justified.
Marina Mabrey Continue To Be Reckless
Despite putting the crashout jar, the Connecticut star remained one of the roughest defenders on the floor. In the game against the Breeze BC, her hard foul on Rickea Jackson took out the starting player.

It affected the Breeze’s performance in the next game as Jackson remained on the sidelines against the Laces BC. Without the star, Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink struggled as Breeze BC falls to top-seeded Laces BC, dropping to fourth position in the standings.
