The Lunar Owls might be way down in the Unrivalled season 2 ranking, with Napheesa Collier missing the entire season due to injury and other players struggling without their leader. One player who is still thriving irrespective of the superstar forward’s absence is Marina Mabrey.
The competitive guard showcased her explosive scoring ability, leading the side with a staggering 26.8 points per game and nearly 5 assists per game. But her competitive nature sometimes overpowers her calmness on the floor, and fans saw her ‘crash out’ on opponents or even referees in games.
The player came up with a crash-out jar to help her control her emotions and recently spoke about it.

Marina Mabrey With Crash-Out Accountability
In the WNBA 2025 season, the Sun guard went viral as she shoved down Caitlin Clark in the game. Fans criticized the former Notre Dame player who lost control and committed the hard foul. There were many such instances in her career, in Unrivaled and in the WNBA too. She explained everything about her crash-outs and the crash-out Jar to Sue Bird
Mabrey said, “I had a couple of moments this season so far that I probably was like a little not so, and sometimes for me it teeters the other way, where I like take myself out of it. And I know that I’m better than that. Like, I can stop it. I just need to be more locked in on it. So I felt like the jar would hold me accountable.”

“Let’s just talk about a lot of people have to say about when I crash out. They’re really upset about it, so. Whether I think it’s fair or not, like whatever, I want to hold myself accountable because it’s not really like who I am. It’s just that sometimes on the court, I’m so competitive that I just like the wires go a little nuts sometimes,” Marina Mabrey added.
After the introduction of the jar, she handled the situations well, even after fans whistling and expecting a crash-out from the 29-year-old. Recently, she participated in the one-on-one competition and held her nerves despite a heartbreaking loss.
Marine Mabrey’s Early Exit Fron 1-On-1 Tournament
The veteran guard was up against the 2025 rookie Sonia Citron in the first round of the Unrivaled’s one-on-one competition. The player gave her best, pushing the Mystics’ star to a winner-takes-all shot.
Citron took a 5-0 lead with two quick baskets, but the 5-feet-11 guard came back strong and scored 10 straight points with a couple of three pointers. As she looked to advance for the second round, Citron collected the offensive rebound to gain control of the possession and scored seven points in the next three positions to win the game.
