A’ja Wilson has made history with her fourth WNBA MVP award. Emerging as one of the mainstays of the Aces, Wilson had one of the best seasons this year. While initially, Napheesa Collier looked to be running away with the award, her mid-season injury paved the path for Wilson to come in strongly. While the 29-year-old celebrates her incredible achievement, Aces’ owner, Mark Davis, finds a hilarious way to participate in the celebrations.
Wilson has been phenomenal, and the records speak the loudest. According to a Shams Charania update, the Aces star is the only WNBA player to average 20 points and 10 rebounds in multiple seasons. Surely, the team’s owner will be excited.
A’ja Wilson Gets The Backing Of Mark Davis
Wilson has dominated the WNBA realm entirely this season. As a result, much before the WNBA announced its MVP selection, Wilson received the MVP honor from AP. Meanwhile, this Sunday, Wilson was presented with her MVP trophy at the Las Vegas Aces facility. As a sweet gesture, the Aces asked Wilson’s boyfriend, NBA star Bam Adebayo, to deliver the trophy.

But as the entire team broke out in cheers and laughter, Davis decided to pull off a hilarious joke. He showed up wearing a bright pink wig. The Aces’ owner also had a bouquet of pink flowers. Now, while some are wondering about what this is all about, Davis took a hilarious dig at Wilson, who sported a similar colored hair in the Aces’ team photoshoot.

Now, coming to how her season has gone, Wilson had a quiet first half. But she shrugged off the sluggish start and ended the season with 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game on average. Meanwhile, Mark Davis was not the only one mesmerized by Wilson. Head coach Becky Hammon, too, had some praises to usher.

Becky Hammon Calls A’ja Wilson The Greatest
The Las Vegas Aces head coach is not in the best of moods at the moment, after all, following her warning to Indiana. Fever, the Aces fell 89-73 in game 1 of the semifinals. And as Hammon lashed out at her team for the poor performance, she is now desperate to look for a ploy to come back in the series. However, amidst all these, she does not forget to praise her team’s star, Wilson. And in a recent statement, Hammon called the four-time WNBA MVP ‘the greatest.’

“There’s no Mt. Rushmore. You are the only one. You’re Everest. By the time it’s all said and done, she will be the greatest to ever do it. Four [MVPs] already say she is. In a league that has continued to get much better, she keeps getting better. You’re watching poetry in motion. You’re watching history. And she’s just 29 years old. She could win four more of these by the time she is finished,” Hammon said.
Surely, the hype around Wilson is for real. Now, with the Aces in a spot of bother, it remains to be seen what happens next.
