The Vanderbilt Commodores recorded an 85-60 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide, taking their record to 26-3. The fifth-ranked side has been hitting the right notes to enter the championship conversation. Coach Shea Ralph credited Coach Geno Auriemma’s influence on her team’s success, and on the court, it was Mikayla Blakes who was delivering for the side. And her impressive performances surpassed Caitlin Clark’s record in the NCAAW.
Earlier, the guard became only the third player to score at least 100 points over a three-game span in which her team won every game, and every opponent was ranked in the AP’s top 25. Paige Bueckers and Stephen Curry were the other two players. While she matched their record, she surpassed CC with her current outing.

Mikayla Blakes Surpasses Caitlin Clark’s NCAAW Record
While the Alabama team stretched the Commodores in the first half, with just four points separating the two teams, the fifth-placed team outscored the opponent by 31-16 in the third quarter to take control of the game.
During that run, the 5-feet-8 guard nailed a three-pointer in the closing seconds, marking her fifth consecutive game with 30+ points against an AP-ranked team. That streak surpasses the four-game run by the Iowa Hawkeye guard in the 2023-24 season.
