Napheesa Collier is taking on the WNBA leadership. As the players fight for equal pay rights, it is Collier who is making sure that they get what they deserve. As the CBA deadline of October 31 is approaching fast, it does not look like a fruitful solution will be offered by the WNBA management.
In a recent statement, Collier joked about getting fined for speaking against the WNBA. And while she previously took on league commissioner Cathy Engelbert, the Lynx star has now once again given a Caitlin Clark example to explain the sorry state of the players.
Napheesa Collier Shows How Minuscule Caitlin Clark’s Earnings Are
In an earlier interview, Collier allegedly stated that Engelbert had told her that Clark must be thankful to the league. And the reason? Well, for the fact that she earns $16 million from the league.

Soon, there was a swarm of critics criticizing the league commissioner. Now, once again, the Lynx star pointed towards a surprising Clark stat that jolted the WNBA fans. In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Collier stated that Clark has gotten almost zero of what she has made for the league.
“The amount of money that Caitlin Clark has made the league is insane, and she’s getting 0% of it because we have no rev share,” Collier said. “She gets less than $80,000 a year, and she’s bringing in, like, hundreds of millions of dollars. It’s insane.”

Surely, there is no doubt that Clark has been absolutely phenomenal in making the WNBA boom on the big stage. Before 2024, the league was lagging behind significantly in terms of visibility.
After all, it was Clark’s introduction that had the WNBA recording an overall viewership of 54 million last year. Meanwhile, as Collier continues to lash out at the league leadership, she is getting more and more support from the athletes. And the latest came from Paige Bueckers.
Paige Bueckers Supports Napheesa Collier In Her Quest
Soon after her public criticism of Cathy Engelbert, A’ja Wilson extended her support towards Collier. And now, the 2025 Rookie of the Year, too, has expressed her support for whatever the Lynx star is trying to do. Following her fiery exit interview, many thought that Engelbert would be stepping down from her post. However, the league commissioner clarified that she is going nowhere.

Meanwhile, in Collier’s speech, she had a special mention about the Dallas Wings rookie. Collier said, ““I … asked how [Engelbert] planned to fix the fact that players like Caitlin, Angel and Paige, who are clearly driving massive revenue for the league, are making so little for their first four years. Her response was, ‘Caitlin should be grateful she makes $16 million off the court because without the platform the WNBA gives her, she wouldn’t make anything.’”
Showing support, Bueckers posted a picture with Collier on her Instagram story with the caption, “Queen Phee.” Surely, as the situation intensifies, fans will be eager to see what happens next.
