The 2025 WNBA All-Star game might have been in Indiana, but the Minnesota Lynx showed up the brightest in the star-studded event. With Caitlin Clark out due to injury, many eyes were on the other team’s captain, Napheesa Collier, who led her team to a 20-point victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena.
The Lynx superstar herself created history, scoring 36 points, the most in a WNBA All-Star game. The newly introduced four-point play played a significant role in the scoring spree, as both teams also broke the record for most points scored in the WNBA All-Star games.
Team Captain Napheesa Collier Sets WNBA All-Star Scoring Record
Taking charge of the Team Collier, the Lynx’s leading scorer made the most of the free scoring opportunities provided by Team Clark. She scored 36 points in the game in just 19 minutes. With that, she broke Arike Ogunbowale’s record of 34 points, set in the 2024 edition.
The former UConn star scored 30 points in the first three quarters and broke Ogunbowale’s record with a four-point shot. Netting 11-of-12 field goal attempts, including 4-of-5 four-point shots, ‘Phee’ was clinical offensively.
The 2019 sixth overall pick provided an all-around performance, with nine rebounds and one assist. For her explosive gameplay, she won the All-Star MVP award. This is her first All-Star MVP Award in five appearances.
Napheesa Collier’s Team Destroys Team Clark In All-Star Game
Apart from the 2019 Rookie of the Year winner, Team Collier also had strong performances from other players. Seattle Storm’s Skylar Diggins registered the first-ever triple-double and record for most assists in the WNBA All-Star Game. Along with 15 assists, she scored 11 points and collected 11 rebounds.

Allisha Gray scored 18 points while Kelsey Plum and Nneka Ogwumike added 16 points each. Behind these starry performers, the Team Collier led from the tip-off and scored 49 points in the first quarter. They led by a minimum of points throughout the game. Kelsey Mitchell scored 20 points and was the top scorer for Team Clark. Rookie Kiki Iriafen had 17 points, and Gabby Williams added 16 points. The whole team put up a show while the announced captian got replaced.
The 2025 WNBA All-Star weekend provided all the excitement for the fans. Sabrina Ionescu won the Three-Point shooting contest. She scored 30 points in the final round. She outscored the defending champion Allisha Gray in the final round. Ionescu’s Liberty teammate Natasha Cloud won the Skill contest with a win over Erica Wheeler in the final round.
