The WNBA is quickly catching up. And it is taking some giant strides in becoming a fitting equivalent to its NBA counterpart. Take for example the recently concluded All-Star game. With a star studded lineup, the game had all the elements of a blockbuster clash. As Team Collier and Team Clark squared up, the game had some insane shooting spectacle. And most of them came from Team Collier.
With Napheesa Collier leading the pack, she took full advantage of Clark’s absence. But when the duo caught up backstage, light-hearted banter followed. While Clark opted to show some sisterhood, Collier was not at all buying any of it.
Napheesa Collier Refused To Buy Caitlin Clark’s Pre-Game Antics
Team Collier emerged on the bright side of the All-Star game. Winning by a comprehensive 151-131 margin, Collier was at the heart of the action. And she did manage to maintain her tempo during the game due to perhaps a crucial call earlier. Ahead of the game, Clark and Collier met at the presser. After the conclusion, Clark invited her counterpart to have a seat at their bench. Immediately, Collier playfully called it out as a ‘tampering’ effort and stayed well out of the enemy territory!
“Are you gonna sit courtside? You can come to the team Clark bench,” said Clark.
“Is this called tampering?” replied Collier.

Surely, not accepting Clark’s bait proved utterly productive for Collier. Dropping 36 points in the evening, the Minnesota Lynx broke the All-Star record for most points. Compatriot Skylar Diggins, too, followed suit, breaking the All-Star record for most assists with 12. Arike Ogunbowale held the previous record for most All-Star points with 34 points.

Collier also had 13-for-16 shooting, making her case as a WNBA icon even stronger. Quite rightly, the 28-year-old was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the finals. Meanwhile, this is not the only record that Collier has broken in recent times.
Napheesa Collier Impresses For Minnesota Lynx
Collier has been relentless in her pursuit of greatness. Playing the Chicago Sky last Monday, the Lynx faltered a bit initially. However, a 29-point burst from the 28-year-old changed the complexion, handing the Lynx a 91-78 victory. En route to her dominant performance, Collier achieved yet another milestone.

According to StatMuse, the Lynx forward is the first athlete to score 25 points or more in at least 10 games. Now, that is some impressive accomplishment! And to further establish the 28-year-old’s dominance, no other athlete has been successful in replicating the feat for more than five games! Thus, with things looking rosy, it now remains to be seen how Collier will continue in the upcoming days.
