The Unrivaled League has announced its complete roster, featuring eight teams vying to win it all in the second season. The defending champions, Rose BC, could still be a threat in Unrivaled Season 2 for rival teams despite Angel Reese’s absence. Other title contenders include Napheesa Collier and her Lunar Owls.
The star missed an opportunity to win the WNBA championships in back-to-back seasons. She missed a chance in the Unrivaled league last season, despite a strong start to the season. During both years, she has been without a strong and big player who could be a difference-maker for her team.
Napheesa Collier Face Familiar Issue Even With Lunar Owls
The 28-year-old is one of the most talented and versatile players in women’s basketball. The five-time All-Star missed out on major team accolades since joining the ‘W’ and was even in talks for the MVP awards for multiple seasons, but missed out in the WNBA. She captured that accolade in the Unrivaled league and now will look to win her first team championship at the pro level.

The Lunar Owls also feature one of the smaller rotations in Unrivaled. Rebecca Allen is the only guard over 5’11”, and Napheesa Collier (6’1”) and Aaliyah Edwards (6’3”) give up some size compared to most other big rotations. They lost Shakira Austin to the Rose BC.

Napheesa Collier Leads WNBPA With Strong Words For ‘League’s Inequality’
The main point of contention in the CBA standoff was the revenue share, which would significantly increase players’ pay. Speaking of this, the 28-year-old highlighted the ‘inequality issue’ with the example of Caitlin Clark.
Collier said, “We are being so grossly almost taken advantage of, and it should be illegal. The amount of money that Caitlin Clark has made the league is insane, and she’s getting 0% of it because we have no rev share. She gets less than $80,000 a year, and she’s bringing in, like, hundreds of millions of dollars. It’s insane.”

Napheesa Collier even warned WNBA players against the potential outcome of backing down from CBA negotiations. While she got backing from many superstar players, it seems like the Lynx star is giving her all in as she does on the floor – even without a ‘big player’ support.
