The WNBA and WNBPA have been debating (discussing) the commercials of the new CBA deal, which could satisfy both sides’ needs. The league presented multiple offers, but the most recent one received heavy backlash from the players. Nneka Ogwumike leads the charge as WNBA players revolt over “disrespectful” CBA offers amid looming lockout. Natasha Cloud joined the group and thrashed the new offer.
The Liberty guard remained quiet on the topic until now, and never put forward her views in the public domain. Now she opened up on one particular point that she felt was an injustice.

Natasha Cloud Criticizes WNBA’s Proposal On Change In Housing Policy
The WNBA presented an offer that contains two surprises for the players’ association, despite the high commercial rates included in the offer. The first one was the rescheduling, and the second one was the rescinding of the team housing policy. Rescheduling directly threatens the NCAA’s March Madness schedule, while the house policy affects most players in the league.
Understanding the same, former WNBA Champion Natasha Cloud wrote directly to the authorities, pleading with them to keep the housing policy intact. “This makes no sense for our younger players, for the players that get cut and are stuck in leases. Instead of teams that bring in replacement players, nor for players in bigger markets. Let alone talking about player safety in safe areas. @wnbacommish we want a girls girl,” Cloud wrote.
She added that the players need housing, which has been available since the league’s inception and was renewed in the 1999 CBA. The prolific guard made some significant points regarding player safety, citing recent examples of fan threats.

Natasha Cloud Joined Other WNBA Stars Highlighting Holes In The New CBA
The WNBA consistently fails to provide a solution to players’ demands in the CBA offer. While they continually improve the compensation aspect of the deal, they are still far short of addressing many other aspects, as the WNBA and WNBPA clash over revenue-sharing percentages in ongoing CBA talks.

So far, Napheesa Collier has been up front criticizing the WNBA’s approach and intentions in the CBA proposals. Another vice president, Breanna Stewart, also openly criticised the league for the offers. Satou Sabally called the offer ‘slap on the face’ and was also vocal on pay parity and demanded more pay for rookies.
Ogwumike, since joining Project B, came up strong with her own remarks and harshly commented that the league is not listening to the players. Now, Cloud put forward another ‘open end’ in the CBA proposal, and the WNBA might need to work hard on closing all the demands.
