The Indiana Fever began their new era under HC Stephanie White with a Commissioner’s Cup title. Natasha Howard played a key role in the impressive feat, earning the MVP award in the process. After the conclusion of the season, Howard shared an emotional message for the Fever fans and teammates.
While her WNBA career has been sailing smoothly, her college career was also impressive. Her alma mater, Florida State, will honor her career with a special gesture.
Florida State To Retire Natasha Howard’s Jersey
The Ohio-born forward was one of the defensively astute players from the start and made her mark on the program. She led the team to the program’s best performance, reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament in 2010, and left the program as its highest rebounder (1,047 rebounds). The star also held the record for the most double-double stats (47) in the program’s history.

She was the top performer for the Florida state side, earning multiple honors, including ACC All-Freshman, an All-ACC forward three times, and twice on the ACC All-Defense squad. The program now decides to honor the star player by retiring her jersey.
