The Indiana Fever’s five-game winning streak came at the right time for them. A decade-long wait for such an incredible stretch highlights how much the team has put in this season. All this done without Caitlin Clark is certainly a remarkable accomplishment for the side.
The franchise also celebrated its success, sharing a special video and lauding Aari McDonald, the catalyst for this run. Veteran forward Natasha Howard also congratulated the guard with her heartfelt message.

In the last 10 games, the Indiana franchise lost only to the defending champions, the New York Liberty. They overcame every other formidable challenger, including their nemesis, the Las Vegas Aces. CC played in just three games in that run, missing both games against the Liberty.
But after the back-to-back losses, Stephanie white’s team showed resilience and finished on top of every opponent, with a commanding win or even closing the final quarters strongly. Midseason acquisition Aari McDonald averaged 14 points in the last five games and even scored a career-high 27 points against the Phoenix Mercury. While the Fever franchise highlighted the point, two-time champion and now teammate Natasha Howard praised the guard with wise words.
“Nothing you do goes unnoticed,” she wrote on ‘X’ with her jersey number 2 and resharing the Fever post.
The 26-year-old star joined the team in the absence of Caitlin Clark on a seven-day hardship contract. She earned a permanent contract following the departure of DeWanna Bonner. While Bonner made little impact on the side during her time, the Arizona guard quickly became an integral part of the team with her gameplay.

She had been working hard for the team’s success and her place in the starting lineup. Along with the two-time champion, Sophie Cunningham had also praised the star for her gameplay.

Bonner was a high-profile addition to the side, which was expected to lead the team to a championship. Instead, she sat out a few games following a few awful performances and decided to leave the franchise. McDonald came into the side following injuries to Sydney Coleman and Caitlin Clark. But her impact impressed everyone, so she remained on the team despite the backcourt players’ return.

While the side is stacked at the guard position at the moment, Aari McDonald is now a perfect replacement for the Iowa star, providing the superstar playmaker some rest in the games. The 5-feet-6 guard is an elite playmaker and scorer who could keep the scoreboard moving in CC’s absence.
Moreover, her defensive abilities proved vital in late games, allowing the side to take control of the game. While fans are still waiting for Caitlin Clark’s return, they are also happy with the four-year veteran guard delivering on the court.
