The Phoenix Mercury’s trip to Sin City turned out to be a bummer for its fans. Facing off against the Las Vegas Aces, the Mercury wanted to notch up a victory. But all the hopes were crushed significantly as the Aces came out on top. And while Phoenix would need to go back to the drawing board and reassess, head coach Nate Tibbetts had an NSFW message after the loss.
Looking at Mercury’s record this year, they have been on a roll. With Satou Sabally returning to All-Star form, things are looking quite upbeat for the team. Unfortunately, all the good vibes were significantly dampened by a blowout loss. And Tibbetts had some interesting words to share.

Mercury did not look like a team that would surrender. After all, they have won 21 games so far while losing on 13 occasions. Unfortunately, their form took a nosedive against the Aces. Faltering right from the start, the team lost the game 61-83. This was undoubtedly one of Mercury’s worst performances this season.

Speaking with the reporters after the game, head coach Tibbetts stated that the Aces outshined them in every aspect. He also emphasized on the need to focus more on teamwork. Tibbetts stated that his team must learn to work as a group, and get themselves out of such tricky games.
“I didn’t think that we were very good tonight, to be quite honest. They kicked our a** from the start. These are games that we got to go through as a group,” said Tibbetts.

Well, in a way, the Mercury head coach was right. The team did well in restricting one of the primary threats, A’ja Wilson, to just under 20 points. Unfortunately, others chipped in and took the game out of Phoenix’s grasp. Meanwhile, Tibbetts has recently stressed one particular aspect that will help the team to prosper in the future.
Nate Tibbetts Wants To Capitalize On Home Game Advantage
The Mercury are eager to try and aim for a championship run. Thus, they are not ready to back down now. While the loss against the Aces came as a shock, the team will surely want to put that behind them. Only recently did the Aces sign Kiana Williams to their side. After playing on a 7-day contract thrice, Williams was roped in for the rest of the season. However, apart from bringing in some quality, Tibbetts has stressed capitalizing on the upcoming home games.

“This is the great time of year. We put ourselves in position to have home court advantage, but we’re going to have some good wins and tough losses in the next 13 games. You want to keep fighting, and we have a lot to play for. It’s an exciting time,” Tibbetts said.
Surely, with several home games coming up, it is now important for Phoenix to rack up as many wins as possible. Thus, with fans eagerly waiting, it now remains to be seen what happens next.
