Angel Reese has been on a tear in her sophomore season despite the Chicago Sky’s poor record. Her stellar play made it only fitting that NBA 2K26 chose her as the cover athlete for the WNBA Edition.
Reese vowed to come back stronger in her second year after a wrist injury cut her rookie campaign short. Staying true to her word, she has dominated both ends of the floor. She averages a double-double with 13.2 points, a league-best 12.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals.

Angel Reese Reacts To NBA 2K26 First Look
Reese expressed her excitement after seeing her image on NBA 2K26 for the first time.
“COVER GIRL. THANK YOU, @nba2k,” said the Sky star on X.
Fans also congratulated her for the honor. Some even tagged her as the face of the WNBA.

Reese became only the second player from the WNBA to appear on an NBA 2K cover, following Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, who was featured on the WNBA Edition of NBA 2K25. Featuring a female player for the second consecutive year highlights the WNBA’s steadily growing popularity.
“It’s about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically,” said Reese in a media release.
“To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me.”
Reese is set to play in her second All-Star Game on July 19 and takes pride in her off-court accomplishments. Her latest milestone with NBA 2K26, along with the release of her first signature shoe, further boosts her morale as she continues to champion inclusion and representation.
