Taylor, who has been there at the helm for about four wonderful years, now has the chance to get along with NBA stars Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter. Both of the men’s basketball superstars would have a female counterpart for their next big break.
Maria Taylor To Lead NBA And WNBA On NBC With NBA Superstars
According to official reports, Maria Taylor is stepping into an exciting new role as NBC Sports’ lead host for both NBA and WNBA coverage. The show will be starting with the upcoming NBA season on NBC and Peacock this October.

She’ll host studio shows on Sunday and Tuesday nights, along with Anthony and Carter. Additionally, beginning in spring 2026, she’ll be there in select WNBA games, including the much-anticipated semifinals and finals.

It is noteworthy that Taylor brings a wealth of experience to this position. Before joining NBC, she spent seven years at ESPN, where she hosted NBA Finals coverage and was the face of NBA Countdown.

However, Peacock will also stream exclusive Monday night games, making it easier than ever to catch the action.
