At the start of the season, the New York Liberty was on a 9-0 run, delivering champion-worthy performances in 2025. Indiana Fever snapped their winning run, helping Stephanie White’s team advance to the Commissioner’s Cup final. However, a more brutal blow was Liberty’s injury to star center on June 19 against the Phoenix Mercury.
While she missed over a month due to an ankle injury, the side lost five games and won six in that period. Even though the Liberty stayed in second position in the standings after 21 games, they will be hoping for the return of their superstar center.

Early in June, Jonquel Jones sprained her right ankle. After a week’s absence, the injury aggravated, and the five-time All-Star was ruled out for a month. The powerful forward even missed the All-Star game due to injury as she was undergoing rehab. But as per recent updates, she will be back on the hardwood taking on the Fever on July 22.
