Sabrina Ionescu Staying At New York Liberty
The New York Liberty had been a challenging team, but for the 2026 season, it had its entire core in free agency. While the GM Klob mentioned that the front office will look to keep all-star players on the roster, the departure of Sandy Brondello, poor performance in the 2025 season, and a change in the back office raised some concerns.
Yet, megastar Breanna Stewart mentioned that she is staying with the Liberty team, and now Ionescu followed her forward. “Obviously, I’m where I’m supposed to be. Never thought anything different. And so, I’m excited to kind of be able to sign and get started. It’s coming up really quickly. So, excited to get all this behind us and just be able to start our season and get going in New York,” Ionescu told reporters.
