Fans are excited for the 2026 season, with the mega CBA deal finally satisfying the WNBA committee. One player who worked tirelessly behind the scenes on the CBA discussions was President Nneka Ogwumike, who also said players want the season, but on their terms.
Now that the presidential duty is over, she has a decision to make as a player. A recent report showed that the Seattle Storm will lose two of its veteran stars, which includes Ogwumike, and a recent post might have revealed her next destination, too.

Minnesota Lynx Could Be Nneka Ogwumike’s Next Destination
A WNBA season is already getting spicier with a confirmed move for Ogwumike and another All-Star leaving the Phoenix Mercury. As for the Seattle Star, a company known as Amazing Balloons nearly spoiled her free agency move with a post of a recent job they did involving the Lynx, and with a huge ‘Welcome Nneka’ sign.
During the free agency period, such ‘artwork’ highlights a possible addition to the team, and some fans are already speculating Napheesa Collier and Ogwumike’s pairing for the 2026 season.

Incidentally, the player is testing her options, and the Lynx is one of the probable destinations for her. The 35-year-old star showed her capabilities in her second season with the Seattle Storm team. She played in all 44 games, clocking around 30 minutes for the team and averaging 18.3 points, seven rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals. She was effective from the floor to netting 51.9 percent of her shots from the field, 36.7 percent shooting from the range.

With Napheesa Collier’s injury and uncertainty over Kayla McBride’s availability, adding the megastar and former champion makes sense for the championship-aspirant Lynx side. But the move would also have another impact on its WNBA Draft decision.
Nneka Ogwumike’s Addition To Impact Minnesota Lynx’s Draft Decision
Even though the forward’s decision is not yet confirmed, and the franchise will get the final answer by April 11, the implications of the deal go deeper than just the stats. If the side lands the talented forward, the immediate WNBA draft would be a guard to complement the team’s plans.
The 2026 WNBA mock draft also hints at a similar addition. But if Ogwumike decides against joining the franchise, the front office would prioritize a forward’s addition in the WNBA draft. Luckily, the franchise has the second overall pick and multiple choices from the 2026 WNBA draft class.
