It was a sorry night for the Seattle Storm. Going toe-to-toe with the Los Angeles Sparks, they could not clear the last hurdle. With the game going into double overtime, the heartbreak for the Storm came in right at the fag end. However, despite all the dark clouds of gloom, Nneka Ogwumike emerged as the sole silver lining.
Ogwumike has been a consistent performer for the team. And as she delivered a sublime performance, the 35-year-old achieved a remarkable milestone. A feat so rare that only five athletes in the WNBA have been able to achieve that so far.
Nneka Ogwumike Steers Ahead Of 7000 Points
Maintaining consistency in a fast-paced league is quite difficult. And coming into the WNBA, Ogwumike has done exactly that. Day in and day out, the 35-year-old has been relentless in delivering quality performances. And quite rightly, she has been aptly rewarded now.
In a recent update from ESPN on X(formerly Twitter), Ogwumike reportedly attained a prestigious feat. She became the sixth player in WNBA history to get into the 7000 points club. The WNBA veteran completed the milestone via a stunning free throw in the fourth. And that was not all. Ogwumike also dropped 37 points on the night.

However, Ogwumike is the only player in this list boasting a FG% of 54.2%. Meanwhile, despite a strong showing, it was Dearica Hamby who stole the spotlight.
