The CBA talks had two extensions, and it might be the last opportunity and support from the WNBPA, as the majority of players voted for a strike. Basketball fans saw strikes in the NBA, and now, with the WNBA players moving in similar directions.
The situation, however, worries fans. WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike had her say about the same.
Earlier, Nneka Ogwumike led the charge as WNBA players revolted over “disrespectful” CBA offers amid a looming lockout. And now, after the strike voting, the Storm player cleared the air.

Nneka Ogwumike Sets Record Straight
With 93% players voting for the decision and 98% of them permitting the authorities to call the strike, everyone turned their attention to the league to make a quick and ‘fruitful’ decision. The veteran forward came ahead and explained the situation as she spoke to the media about it.
Speaking to ESPN, Ogwumike said, “We’re looking for a good deal to get done, but I think we’re also prepared for whatever it takes for that to happen, while also understanding that we want a 2026 season. We want to make sure that that season is the way that it can be best for us to put the product on the court and for that product to be valued.”

NBA Commissioner Could Enter CBA Talks Following Nneka Ogwumike’s Criticism
With the players’ association president showing her discontent with the CBA proposal, it was clear that the proposal would not go through. So, during the NBA Cup final, Commissioner Adam Silver mentioned that there will be an agreement, and he will step in if needed.
He mentioned that the NBA authorities are available to do whatever is necessary to help complete the deal. He added that the player salaries should be higher following the great season.
