Olivia Miles had been an elite star from the beginning of her career, but never crossed the sweet Sixteen phase. Changing the side not only helped her elevate her offensive game but also tasted more success in the March Madness competition following a win over the Virginia Cavaliers.
Throughout the season, Miles proved her decision to delay her WNBA career was right and made her a top-5 pick candidate. While her on-court performances did most of the work, one more thing that charged her up was opposition fans’ trash talk.

Olivia Miles Talks About Fan Trash Talk
The TCU women’s basketball team used its firepower to overcome the Cavaliers’ challenge, with the guard-forward pairing of Miles and Marta Suarez combined for 61 of the team’s 79 points in the Horned Frogs’ Sweet 16 win. But it was not only the Virginia players who failed to stop the former Notre Dame star from impacting the game; fans also tried their best with trash talk.
Addressing the fan’s efforts, she said, “They were telling me that I can’t go left and I can’t make a left layup. So it just makes me laugh because ultimately, we are the ones out there playing. If the roles were reversed, I don’t know if they could take my place and do what I am doing out there.”

The player accepted that the fans do all the talking deliberately to help their team win, which is normal in every game. She added that such banter gets her going, and she loves making them upset in the end.

While the first week of the March Madness games raised many stars’ chances of landing a higher draft pick, Miles’ performance in the second week also put her in the prime position for a close to the top pick.
Olivia Miles Would Turn Minnesota Lynx Into A Championship Side
The WNBA draft has one of the deepest classes in the league’s recent history, and teams will look to pick top talent at their required positions. The Dallas Wings have the top pick, and Azzi Fudd seems to be the ultimate choice for the Texas franchise.

Next up is the Minnesota Lynx, who earned the top pick from the Chicago Sky. The Lynx side desperately needs a playmaker, and offensive star Miles surely fits the bill. She is leading the side in assists and even provides an offensive punch on a timely basis. Although the defensive game might need some adjustment for the WNBA level, the Lynx side already has a strong defensive lineup, which would complement her gameplay.
Playing alongside Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride would take her game to a higher level, given her high game IQ. Moreover, the presence of Lindsay Whalen on Cheryl Reeve’s coaching team would be the perfect person to guide the young Miles in transition as a guard in the WNBA.
