The 2025-26 College basketball season tip-off will take over the news with a few senior players in the limelight, considering the blockbuster 2026 WNBA draft class in the building. One top name from the mix is Olivia Miles.
Earlier in July, Miles spoke about her decision to opt out of the WNBA draft and rejoin college basketball as she enters her final year of qualification. Ahead of the new season, the 22-year-old star faced the media and answered a few questions on her future.
Olivia Miles Getting Ready For WNBA Via TCU’s Incredible Program
The Notre Dame guard was one of the top names in the 2024 WNBA draft. Although her decision to enter the transfer portal shocked many, she revealed the reasons behind her actions and even spoke about the ongoing CBA discussions.

The return from injury was not easy for Miles, as she mentioned that she was not ready to go pro with half a mind, even though her parents were also against her decision.
“I wasn’t in great shape, still, mentally. I had a great season last year, but I still wanted to get more consistent and more disciplined, and in better shape physically. Being at TCU feels so aligned; I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity, especially with their style of play,” Miles told the media about choosing TCU over WNBA and Notre Dame.
While many considered that most senior players opting out of the 2024 WNBA draft were awaiting renewed CBA deals for higher salaries, the record-breaking guard was not thinking that way.

“The WNBA is figuring out their own stuff [with the CBA] as we’re watching. Right now, it’s all still opinions on what is going to change,” Miles said of the CBA. “We hear there is going to be a lot of [player] movement and the league will look different next season. So, for now, I just prioritize what is right in front of me. I’ll start thinking about everything else later on.”

While the NBA commissioner also agrees on higher pay for the players, the WNBPA fires shots at Adam Silver for his comments on the profit share. It will be the WNBA and WNBPA’s separate discussions that college players like Miles do not have to worry about right now.
HC Mark Campbell Ready To Hand Olivia Miles TCU’s Offense
The player has set her goals for the 2025-26 season and trusts the TCU system to help her achieve them. HC Mark Campbell also showed trust in his starting point guard to lead the offense for his side in the upcoming season and publicly mentioned that the team will play through Miles.
“She’s going to be the ball-dominant kid, and she’s going to get the usage — all of our actions will run through her. She wanted to use this year to really, really get her mind right and get ready for the pros. And she’s acted like a pro since day one,” Campbell told the media.
While Miles is one of the top recruits for the 2026 draft class, a solid 20255-26 season or even an NCAA championship would land her a number 1 pick in the season, allowing her to take control of the rebuilding team in the WNBA also.
