Paige Bueckers has been a phenom this year in the WNBA. In just her rookie year, the 23-year-old has proved herself to be one of the potential stars of tomorrow. Showing her impeccable display, Bueckers recently broke the Dallas Wings’ scoring record in a loss to the Valkyries. And now, proving her superstardom even more, the Dallas Wings’ star has earned a coveted spot alongside Caitlin Clark.
Clark had been one of the biggest stars in the WNBA. In her rookie season last year, the Fever star was responsible for making the league bloom as a whole. Interestingly, Bueckers’ run this year has, many times, reminded people about Clark’s impact. And that has only gotten stronger as the season progressed.
Paige Bueckers Ties Caitlin Clark In All-Time Rookie Points
Bueckers ended her season on a high note this year. Despite her scintillating form, the Wings struggled significantly. However, they did salvage their pride to a certain extent in the final game. Facing off against the Phoenix Mercury, the Wings won the game in a dominant 97-76 showing. And their rookie star once again stole the spotlight. She finished with 24 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

And with it, she drew level with none other than the 2024 Rookie of the Year, Clark. After Clark, Bueckers have now become the only rookie to end up top 3 all-time in Rookie points and assists. All in all, the 23-year-old appeared in 36 games this year. And she dropped a whopping 692 points and 194 assists. These were the third-most assists and points scored by a rookie in WNBA history.

Paige Bueckers Wins Rookie Of The Month For August
The Wings’ rookie has been unstoppable this year. Not only is she challenging the towering stature of Clark, but she is also breaking a lot of elite records. Only recently, Bueckers broke Cynthia Cooper’s double-double rookie record. And quite rightly so, she earned the Rookie of the Month award in August. In August, the Wings’ star continued her dominance in her own unique manner. She capped off the month with an average of 20.3 points and 5.0 assists per game.

What is even more remarkable is that Bueckers played just 10 games during this period. She also led her team in most of the stats. Surely, all such performances will give a lot of hope to the Wings’ front office. As the team looks to rebuild and come back stronger in the next season, Bueckers will surely play a big role in helping Dallas with the transition.
