The Minnesota Lynx has emerged as the team to beat this season. Despite narrowly missing out on the championship in the previous season, the Lynx have been phenomenal. However, just when things looked to be going smoothly, the injury to Napheesa Collier had the team significantly concerned. Thankfully for them, coach Cheryl Reeves made a smart choice by bringing in DiJonai Carrington, and it surely changed the dynamics.
Back in Dallas, Carrington was an average performer. However, she failed to make a significant impact on her previous team. But ever since joining the Lynx, the 27-year-old seems to be enjoying her time to the fullest. Carrington recently pointed out how grateful she was for getting an opportunity to represent Minnesota. Looking at her journey, Paige Bueckers, Jessica Shepard, and others shared their heartfelt take.
DiJonai Carrington Shares Her Minnesota Lynx Journey
The 27-year-old also stated that although things did happen quite fast, it was probably a good thing after all. Surely enough, the former Wings star has been looking like a changed athlete since joining Minnesota. And this can easily be fathomed once we take a look at her recent stats.

Back in Dallas, Carrington had a shooting percentage of 35.4% along with an average of 10.4 points per game. But in just her first three games for the Lynx, her shooting has improved to 62.5%. And looking at such a huge improvement, it seems like Carrington’s trade might be a great game-changing move that the Lynx needed. Meanwhile, enjoying time with her new team, the former Wings player shared snippets of her journey on her Instagram.
The 2024 WNBA Most Improved Player posted pictures of her recent victory against the New York Liberty. The slide also caught the WNBA star in different moods. The carousel ended with her dancing while celebrating the birthday of the team mascot, Prowl. Looking at her vibrant mood, players from all over the WNBA came in to show support.
