Unrivaled’s postseason bracket is not fully set, but one potential first-round matchup is already generating attention. Amid an already anticipated season, Paige Bueckers versus Angel Reese would be a dream matchup for many.
Bueckers has helped guide Breeze BC into the playoffs, securing a postseason berth despite a recent loss to Mist. On the other side, Reese’s Rose BC, also the defending champions , also clinched its spot, setting up the possibility that two of women’s basketball’s most recognizable young stars could meet immediately when the playoffs tip off Saturday.

Unrivaled Could Set Up Paige Bueckers vs. Angel Reese Clash
Bueckers and Reese have built a public friendship over the years, one rooted in years of competition dating back to high school and international play. Despite representing different WNBA franchises, Bueckers with the Dallas Wings and Reese with the Chicago Sky, the two have remained vocal supporters of one another.
“That’s my dog,” the Sky star said on her Unapologetically Angel podcast. “I love Paige. I’m really happy to see her grow. She did a lot of great things in the league this year.”

Angel Reese’s Unrivaled Return Showing Visible Results For Rose BC
Despite the looming uncertainty, Angel Reese is firing on all cylinders as she anchors the Rose BC’s campaign this Unrivaled season.
Before she made her awaited return, the team’s defensive numbers were telling a concerning story. Across a nine-game stretch, opponents were shooting 52.2% from the field. But things appear to change altogether after the Chi Town Barbie’s return.
Prior to Angel Reese’s arrival, opponents were shooting 52.2% from the field against Rose BC over a nine-game stretch. That has quickly shifted. Since Reese rejoined the lineup on February 20, that percentage has dropped to 43.1%. The impact was clearest in a 70–66 win over second-place Laces BC, where Rose held its opponent to 40.3% shooting.
Reese’s influence is showing up both in the box score and in possession-level details. She is averaging approximately 11 points and 11 rebounds off the bench in her first two appearances, but the more important contribution has come in late-game defense.
That said, a Bueckers vs. Reese matchup would still be very much in the air. Fans would love to see that happen anytime soon.
