Every point, every possession and every basket matters as the Unrivaled season two enters its middle phase. The standings are taking shape, with a few contenders proving their mettle while other teams struggle to make their case. Paige Bueckers put the Breeze BC in the contender category, but the real test was against the top seed, Laces BC.
Dominique Malonga’s thunderous dunk against the Vinyl BC put a spotlight on her, while Cameron Brink remained a defensive juggernaut for the expansion team. But the trio got a real taste of action against Alyssa Thomas and her Laces team.

Paige Bueckers And Cameron Brink Crumble Against Laces
So far, Bueckers has been an MVP candidate in Unrivaled season 2, and her consistency has been the main reason for the claim. The former UConn star, though, struggled to make an impact on the game that mattered the most. Top seed Laces defended her well and restricted her to 7-of-16 shooting for 22 points in the game.
While PB could make four assists in the game, Malonga had another double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, trying to keep the Breeze team in the contest. Cameron Brink made one difficult shot late in the game to push for the victory, but scored only 11 points off the bench.

While both teams will look to revamp their roster, Caitlin Clark and Bueckers will be in focus in the fixture, as the consecutive Rookie of the Year winners carried their sides in their first seasons. Ironically, the sides will face each other in a preseason matchup on April 30, well before the regular-season game.
