It was a taste of her own medicine for Paige Bueckers. The star earned praise for her mid-range shooting prowess, and Chelsea Gray was at her best to penetrate through PB’s defence and score multiple shots from ‘Bueckers’ range’.
The exciting match-up had an expected end, which was once again a reminder of how the veterans can use Unrivaled to redeem themselves. After the defeat, there is no Breeze BC representative for the one-on-one title, with PB being the only realistic and top-seed contender from the franchise.

Paige Buckers Storms Out In Frustration
In the first round, the Wings’ guard faced a tough challenge from Kate Martin, where the former Iowa star relieved the NCAA rivalry to push PB to the limits. But the quarter-final game against Gry was even tougher as the experienced guard had multiple weapons in her offensive game and continues to improve on her plays.
In the faceoff, Bueckers managed one tough jumper over Grey, but for the rest of the period, Grey didn’t give her a chance to come close and defend.

The cross-overs, step-back baskets were well executed by the Aces megastar, who made a top defender like Bueckers look ordinary. Apart from the score, the defeat was more humiliating for the Breez star, who stormed out of the court, congratulating the winner.

The rookies’ quick exit also shocked Gray, but she will now face another crafty veteran guard, Kelsey Plum, in the semifinal. But the season is not over for the 2025 WNBBA top pick. The star can leave the premises with her head held high, winning the title.
Paige Bueckers With A Chance Of Redemption
The Breeze BC are in fourth position in the season standings at the moment and have four games left. They will face Laces BC, Mist BC, Vinyl BC, and the Lunar Owls in the upcoming regular season schedule.

Though the Laces BC and Mist BC remain the high-ranked teams and tougher opponents in the remaining fixtures, Buckers and Co. added experienced guard Courtney Williams in a four-team trade following injury to Aari McDonald. Three wins would ensure their place in the semis, and then it would be a knockout pressure game to prove themselves in the season.
Bueckers already won the Xfinity Free-throw contest early in the season, winning the championship with the Breeze BC, which could hand her the title and probably the MVP award for her performances.
