The battle between the top two teams in the Unrivaled season 2 brought the best out of everyone. Players were on their toes, fans were on the edge of their seats, and referees were also keeping a close eye on every play. Sadly, Paige Bueckers didn’t think the same way.
Throughout the game, she had a few issues with the referee’s decisions. Cameras caught Bueckers showing true emotions during the second quarter officiating challenge. It was not the only case in the game, though.
Paige Bueckers Frustrated Over Officiating
The winner of the game between the Laces BC and the Breeze BC would gain control of the league standings and nearly confirm a place in the playoffs. With this in mind, every player was giving 100% on the floor.
On one play, PB was defending Naz Hillmon, who tried to play her moves on the Wings’ guard. Bueckers held her position well and fell to a fake shot going in the other direction. When Hillmon tried to go for a layup, her legs tangled with the 2025 rookie’s legs, and she fell on the floor.

When the referee called the foul, it was ruled as a defensive foul on Bueckers. The guard couldn’t believe the call and hid her face, trying to show her discontent.
Even though the player is not happy with the officiating, she is slowly gaining confidence in the unrivalled league and its pay structure.
