Sophie Cunningham and the Indiana Fever’s recent game against the Dallas Wings was a close one. Despite the absence of Caitlin Clark due to a groin injury, the Fever showed incredible resistance. However, as the Wings managed to edge Indiana by a solitary point, significant complaints about the refereeing surfaced. Meanwhile, shrugging off the accusations, Paige Bueckers did not seem to pay much heed to the same.
Soon after the game ended, Fever HC Stephanie White expressed her frustrations regarding inconsistent officiating. But Sophie Cunningham pointed fingers and accused the referees of favoring her. Responding to this, the 23-year-old casually approached the incident.
Paige Bueckers Downplays Sophie Cunningham’s Allegations About The Referees Favoring Her
Sophie Cunningham is not the one to filter out her feelings. The Fever star has been vocal about the standards of refereeing in the WNBA. And she has been fined heftily for the same as well. Likewise, the 28-year-old was once again furious at the officials, this time for allegedly favoring Bueckers.
In a recent interaction, the 23-year-old Wings’ rookie was asked about her reaction to the allegations. However, the star rookie looked in no mood to engage in a verbal conflict. Instead, she de-escalated the situation, saying that personal opinions may vary from person to person. And everyone is entitled to put forth the same.
“Everyone is entitled to their own unique personal opinion,” Bueckers said about Sophie Cunningham.

What Did Sophie Cunningham Say About Paige Bueckers?
Sophie Cunningham was recently fined $1500 by the WNBA. The reason? Her commentary on the double standards of WNBA officiating. But guess what? The hefty fine did little to curb the 28-year-old’s instincts. Utterly frustrated after the game against the Wings, Cunningham went on a rant on the ‘Show Me Something’ podcast.

“I love Paige to death, do not get me wrong. I think she’s a hell of a player and would love to play with her one day, but those refs were giving her every whistle last night. You literally couldn’t touch her, couldn’t touch her,” Sophie Cunningham said via her Podcast.
Surely, frustrations regarding the officials are growing. However, fans are interested in seeing how the WNBA addresses the issue in the long run as more complaints come in.
