Many young stars, including Paige Bueckers, Caitlin Clark, Kiki Iriafen, and Angel Reese, will be taking the court for the first time as Team USA’s Women’s side. With multiple high-profile debuts, all eyes will be on the chemistry between the players and even with the veteran on the floor.
While Bueckers cleared the air about the rivalry with Caitlin Clark, she recently spoke about playing alongside Chelsea Grey, who has already established herself as the starting point guard for the national team.
Ironically, the Rose BC star won one-on-one competition against the Wings guard while PB settled the ‘score’, knocking out Rose BC in the playoffs.

Paige Bueckers Opens Up On Teaming Up With Chelsea Grey
Earlier in the media interactions, Bueckers called wearing a USA Jersey a true honor ahead of his senior team debut. While it’s a great responsibility to represent the most successful team in the competition, the 2025 rookie is happy to have top players around her to continue the legacy. She singled out Chelsea Gray and is more excited to play with her on the same team.
“I’ve grown up watching Chelsea Gray and been playing against her the past year,” Bueckers said. “I’m really glad to be on her team and in the same uniform this time… Just how competitive we are. Even today, we don’t have practice guys here, so we’re going against each other. The fire, the intensity and the passion that we have for the game — you can see it.”

“So today we’re competing against each other, but once we suit up and play on the same team and we’re going against somebody else, I think it’ll be very exciting,” Bueckers added
During her unrivaled match-ups, the former UConn star showed huge trust in Grey’s clutch performances and praised her star veteran for the same. But apart from the WNBA Champion, PB is excited to play alongside her 2020 class.
Paige Bueckers Shares Her Excitement To Be Part Of Team USA
Even though PB is one of the top talents in the league and is seen as the future of the national side, too, she earned her senior team selection very early in her career. She is part of the talented 2020 class that has more representatives on Team USA.
“Yeah, it’s really fun. Just to see our journeys and where we were when we were younger, when we were still playing for the Junior Olympic teams competing with each other, and then growing up competing against each other, and to be here now,” Bueckers said.
She added that shared history made the moment feel earned and pointed to the championship-holding vets as perfect teachers for young players like her at the grand stage.
