Paige Bueckers had one of the best rookie seasons one can ask for. While her team, the Dallas Wings, had a dismal outing, the scenario was quite the opposite for the 23-year-old. Having won the Rookie of the Year award, the Wings’ star is bracing for another rosy season ahead. However, while the next WNBA season is still a long way off, the rookie star is enjoying her time delving into other sports. Only recently, cameras caught Bueckers making an appearance at a Dallas Mavericks game. And now, she could be spotted going all in for the Texas Longhorns.
Bueckers recently visited the high-profile face-off between the Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. And while the tension was palpable on the ground, the Wings’ point guard made a gesture that had all the Longhorns fans up on their feet.
Paige Bueckers Shows Support For The Texas Longhorns
Bueckers had already joined the Red River Rivalry broadcast. With the atmosphere buzzing in anticipation, the WNBA star went all in to support the Longhorns. However, the highlight of her visit came when the cameras caught a glimpse of the 2025 Rookie of the Year. The 23-year-old could be seen wearing a Longhorns jersey. And immediately, she performed a ‘Horns Up’ gesture to hype up the crowd.

Surely enough, the 92000 fans present in the arena cheered the former Huskies’ gesture. And much to the delight of the WNBA star, it was Texas who came out on the winning side. Putting up a stellar display, the Longhorns dominated the Sooners and walked away with a 23-6 victory.

Paige Bueckers Sheds Light On Kyrie Irving’s Mentorship
Bueckers broke quite a few records this season. Given her dominance, many drew comparisons between her and the WNBA’s face, Caitlin Clark. Apart from winning the Rookie of the Year award, Bueckers also secured the top spot on the WNBA All-Rookie team. Meanwhile, as she recently attended a game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder, Bueckers could be seen having a long chat with Irving. And while the fans became curious about the interaction, the 23-year-old star revealed that Irving has helped her significantly grow her basketball skills.

“He kind of just reached out and offered support and sort of offered a mentorship position for me. I’ve looked up to him since I was young, and he’s my favorite basketball player ever. He’s just an amazing, genuine human being. He really cares about the next generation and women’s basketball,” Bueckers stated.
Thus, an NBA star supporting a promising WNBA rookie is surely a sight to behold. With so much potential on display, fans now wait to see how well Bueckers can elevate her game.
