USA Basketball’s two-day training camp brought a different vibe, with veteran superstars collaborating with the young guns for the national team. Ironically, this time the team has more rookie players than it used to be, which highlights the trust the coach showed in the newcomers.
Paige Bueckers is one such fresh face to the senior side who had an incredible rookie season in the ‘W’. Legendary UConn coach Geno Auriemma even hailed Bueckers as a potential Sue Bird successor after the Team USA camp selection.
While this is a massive compliment for the star guard to take on the role ahead of the senior players, there are plenty of young players, especially from the Class of 2020, who proved their capabilities on the hardwood. And PB is happy about the same.

Paige Bueckers Lauds Class Of 2020 At USA Training Camp
The Class of 2020 includes Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Cameron Brink alongside PB. All these stars were ESPN’s top 5 players from the class, and they lived up to the hype, delivering in the college and WNBA too. During the post-training interview, Bueckers answered a question about her class’s representation in the USA training camp.
“I mean, you guys know about the nickname. We coined ourselves young and turnt class, but really we’re just, we play with the chip on our shoulder. I feel like we have that edge to us. We’re really competitive, highly competitive, and we all just want to win and represent ourselves, our teams, our communities, in the right way, our country, the right way,” The Wings’ guard said.

“So whatever that looks like, think the class of 2020, in my opinion, I’m biased, but it’s one of the best classes. So I think we all respect each that we all want each other to do well and we all kind of ride in this environment,” Bueckers concluded, praising her ‘batchmates’.
Team USA has 10 new faces in camp, with each bringing their specialty and ability to impact the games at any given point. While players know their roles, the coaches also play a vital role in combining this humongous talent on the floor. The 2025 rookie is happy with the staff, as she spoke highly about them in the interview.
Paige Bueckers Shows Respect For Coaches At Team USA Training
NAB’s veteran guard, famed ‘Point God’, Chris Paul dropped wisdom on Bueckers ahead of the second WNBA season as the two collaborated for a snack brand. Quickly taking note of his advice, the former UConn star is already learning from the best.
When asked about her coaching staff at the camp, Bueckers said, “Huge fans of all them. I think they’re really bright basketball minds…they’re very prepared, very disciplined…they have a lot of insight…I can’t wait to learn from them.”
