There are many adjectives used for Paige Bueckers as the star’s historic season earned her Rookie of the Year accolade and place in the All-WNBA Second team. The All-Star had been making headlines despite her side’s struggles in the league.
But going through struggles and tough conditions is not new for the former UConn star. At the conclusion of her season, Bueckers opened up about her tough transition to life with the Dallas Wings, despite her rookie success. But the star had an even bigger ‘comeback’ in her college career, where she had to overcome the devastating injury, and Harvard recently gave special recognition to the same.

Harvard Crimson With Special Tribute To Paige Bueckers’ Grit
In the 2022-23 season, UConn announced that guard tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee during a pick-up game on August 1. This forced her to sit out the entire season. She received an additional year of college eligibility after redshirting the season. Though the return from such a horrifying injury is possible, the impact that the explosive guard had was impressive.
The Harvard Crimson paid special tribute to this ‘comeback’, making a video of her post-injury performance and struggles through injuries. The video showcased the player’s grit, as well as the lengthy and painful rehab process.
