Paige Bueckers is not showing signs of stopping anytime soon. Following her arrival in the WNBA last year, the Dallas Wings star broke some significant records. Clinching the Rookie of the Year award, she announced her arrival to the elite level in style.
And now, before her second stint with the WNBA begins, the former UConn Huskies star is once again mesmerizing everyone. The signs were already there. Owing to her incredible performance, Bueckers was the frontrunner to win the free-throw challenge. Standing up to the expectations quite, it was the rookie star who pocketed a lucrative amount.

The Unrivaled has introduced a lot of unique features to make things interesting. And one of them is undoubtedly the free-throw challenge. It sets aside a special recognition along with a lump sum prize money for the player dropping the best free-throw percentage in the initial five games.
This year, though, the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year is taking away all the awards. Shooting an astonishing 13-for-13 from the stripe, it was Bueckers who landed up with the $50,000 prize money. Quite expectedly, the WNBA star was elated with her achievement.
When asked about her plans with the money, Bueckers smiled and said, “I got some good plans, but no pocket watching over here. I’mma take care of it. We invest so much in the game, to see other people invest that much into us as well, it’s very motivating”

Making her debut for the Breeze BC, Bueckers dropped a stunning 24 points to announce her arrival in style.

Praising the Wings’ star for her efforts, Unrivaled commissioner, Alex Bazell, said, “Paige is a superstar. Paige is someone that raises the level of everyone else. I think that’s what’s really important. It’s not an individual sport, but individuals do set tones of culture. She’s one of the culture-setters for us, and women’s basketball as a whole.”
