Team USA remained undefeated in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers with rookies and veterans delivering on the court. While Paige Bueckers set 10 records that shaped her into a WNBA superpower, she is looking to replicate similar performances for Team USA. PB, who debuted for the senior level, is clinical on both ends of the floor and leads the side in steals.
While everyone was looking for an exciting mix of young stars with experienced players, the former UConn star spoke about the benefits of playing for Team USA at the senior level.

Coach Kara Lawson is using the opportunity to try new tactics for Team USA with different starting lineups in every game. Having said that, the 2025 rookie got a chance to start the game against Puerto Rico. Making the most of the opportunity, Bueckers took charge in Team USA’s dominant win. But the player had been very effective on the floor in other games, too, and reflected the best part of representing Team USA.
Answering the question, Bueckers said, “Honestly, just the relationships that we get to build. And the different all-star caliber players. And just to see the unselfishness in everybody’s sacrifice for a bigger purpose. Just putting on this USA uniform and representing someone so much better than themselves.”

Paige Bueckers Excited For Her Former Teammate
Sarah Strong and Co. are favorites for the national championship and are currently enjoying the success. The forward shared her excitement on Instagram as she posted pictures of herself and her teammates. Celebrating the Big East title, the Spain-born star wrote, “Que empiece el baile.” Which means “Let the dance begin.”
The Wings’ star was quick to respond to the post, showing love for her teammate and encouraging them to deliver the national championship. In the comment section, Bueckers wrote, “Can’t wait to see your moves.”
Interestingly, Coach Geno Auriemma used Bueckers to encourage his UConn team for the championship run. The side is once again favorites for the title, with all eyes will be on Sarah Strong, who is a candidate for the Naismith Player of the Year accolade.
